Shopping at Gold Coast, Australia

Our first stop was outlet shopping mall at Harbour Town. This was indeed a shopping  attraction to both locals and tourists. There were many cool stuffs at fairly reasonable prices; I got my Levi's and my friends got some Fossils :D

Point of observation: The shop assistants were friendly and truly helpful. The greetings "G'day mate!" or "Hello" made you felt really welcomed, and they still smiled even when you didn't buy anything. It could be a reverse psychology, you know, coz I kinda felt bad and hence tried to buy something (although I was on a tight budget!).

At Harbour Town you may also find some halal food, just make sure you know what you're asking for and everything should be fine. I made the mistake of ordering some falafel that tasted really weird, and that wasn't nice. Still, the fries were good :P

The next day, we went to Carrara Market which only opens during weekends. There were many fun stuffs to look at and shop for, ranging from fresh produce to electronics and even collector's items. This was definitely a good place to get souvenirs. No such things like bargaining though...maybe a bit of discount if you buy a lot. Nevertheless we still had fun ogling and trying out the displayed items.

Another shopping mall we paid homage to was the Pacific Fair. This was one helluva big mall with tons of fashion and accessories to choose from. Just be informed that malls close at 5pm, so time yourself wisely okay ;)

Since we're facing limited supply of halal food, we shopped for groceries at the supermarket here. It's relatively cheaper to cook compared to eating out.

Our supplies for 5 days :P

Last but not least, do not miss the chance to visit the Surfers Paradise night market. It was located by the beachfront and close to the main roads and shopping malls, held every Wednesday and Friday night. The night market here sold more of accessories, paintings and decorative items. My personal shot was not so good so I borrowed this nice pic from Tourism Queensland below.

Good stuff, right? :)
