Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort

The Place
Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort is situated along the beautiful beach of Teluk Chempedak, Kuantan, Pahang. Overlooking the South China Sea, this is one of the high-end accommodation options available at one of the most popular beaches in the state. From an outside front view, the hotel may not give so much of a striking pose (it's kinda dark I think, totally my opinion only). Just give yourself a chance to experience the facilities offered while enjoying the scenic view and you'll probably gonna love your stay there.

The Location
Teluk Chempedak (English direct translation: Bay of Jackfruit) is 7km west of Kuantan, about 11 mins drive or so from town.
Coming from Kuala Lumpur, you can either drive for about 2 1/2 hours or take a 40-min daily connecting flight. From Kuantan Airport, there's a 30-min (24km distance) drive before you reach the resort.

The nearest attraction to the resort is the Teluk Chempedak beach itself. The 800m stretch of fine sands offers beautiful panoramic views along the South China Sea. The beach is not limited to tourists only as locals too come over for picnics or hikes at the nearby forest.

The Stay
One of the upside of going on a business trip is the chance to stay in a 5-star hotel and given a very nice hotel room. For this trip, I got the Sea View King room with balcony. Lovely!
Some facilities highlight include:
  • Awesome view from the room
  • Comfy king-sized bed
  • Wooden floor

The swimming pool looked tempting indeed, too bad I didn't have the time to take a quick dip.

Actually, the first thing I noticed and definitely appreciated was the awesome view from the balcony. So niceee regardless whether it's during sunset or broad daylight...but I like sunrise view the best!

The Food
Having breakfast at Kampung Restaurant, with a view overlooking the sea was lovely. The choice of food was plenty, and one can spend one's time pondering for a couple of hours before they clean up for lunch preparation. Of course, this was during the off monsoon season. Otherwise, it's a wet wet drenched breakfast by the beach.

That's all folks. Check it out but try to avoid the monsoon season, will ya? :)
