Pulai Springs Resort

The Place
Pulai Springs Resort is located at the foothill of Mount Pulai in Johor. A place with 5-star facilities, the patrons are here for recreation and events, most of the time golf and maybe some seminars or courses.
As for me, I was here for a wedding reception. Anyhow, my family first discovered it during their journey to send my brother off to UTM Skudai, which is just next door. Nowadays, there's the Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) and Legoland which are not far off to add to the reason to spend your weekend here.

The Location
I'd say the target market of the resort are Malaysians as well as the Singaporeans, and the directions provided by the hotel website proved as much.

You can come from either North-South highway (Skudai exit), or the Causeway Johor Bahru/Woodlands, or the 2ndLink Gelang Patah/Tuas (Pulai Interchange). Be wary when looking for the resort entrance because the signboard is not so obvious until much, much later.

The Stay
The place covers quite a vast area, since it comprises the resort complex and an 18-hole golf course. It pays to check out where would you be staying, as it could be a bit troublesome walking to and fro the buildings without any clues.

The centre of it all is the Pulai Pavilion. There's a Golf Centre, Spa, and several halls catering to events. Accommodations are divided into Cinta Ayu suites and Anugraha boutique hotel.

For this review I was at the Anugraha block. Well, it certainly lived up to its 5-star claim. Very nice indeed! :)

Facilities highlight:
  • Spacious bedroom + bathroom
  • King-sized bed
  • Wooden flooring
  • Wooden sliding door between the tub and the bedroom
  • DVD player + surround system

Both complexes have their own swimming pools, located nearby the respective cafes. There's also the Pulai Spa and gym for some quality and healthy time. Oh, don't forget the 18-hole golf course. That's one of the main attractions of the resort.

The Food
pool near Cinta Terrace
Breakfast is at the Cinta Terrace, including for those staying at Anugraha. The breakfast buffet is okay, not bad. There's a buggy stationed in front of Anugraha, ready to ferry off patrons to Cinta Ayu. Otherwise, you can just walk and enjoy the morning view.
The Gleneagles serves buffet lunch and dinner. I didn't have the lunch buffet, but ordered an ala-carte meal instead. The servings of laksa Johor, nasi goreng, spaghetti bolognaise and the ABC were tasty albeit the long waiting. The bbq dinner buffet, accompanied by the cool night atmosphere, was good too.

Overall, the stay gave the patron that luxurious feeling some people are craving for :)
